Hello folks....not many people here but hopefully that will pick up!!....i was wondering about the pull start system on the rancher....i have heard on many other forums that water and mud will eventually get into the pullstart assembly and eventually eat away at the seal and into the engine.....has this happened to you, and what are the chances of it happening...does it happen to ALL Ranchers eventually?...if that's the case, then i just might seal mine permanently...thanks.

I haven't heard of this happening, but I can deffinately see the possibility, I know my pull rope is all dirty, and does not recoil well, I am gonna clean it out and silicone the handle to the case, seems easy enough, and you can always use it in an emergency. I've seen the seal off kit, i think it's offered by highlifter, But i don't know that i would want to do away with my pull start all together.

Hello there.....i don't think the silicone trick will do the job....the plate isnt tightly sealed all around...so eventually dirt will work its way in there if you just seal the handle and the drain hole....again, this is just from what i've read...as with you, i do want my pullstart backup.
